I often caught sight of these beautiful pines when I’m walking near my house or visiting a neighbour. They mark the end of rough pasture farmland and the beginning of the moor. They watched over the valley, as well as marking the start of wilder country. When we first went to see the house, we stopped by them on the way home and looked back down into the valley and the woods, wondering if we’d be lucky enough to move there.
