Red Hedge

This unframed reduction linocut is one of an edition of 12, printed on Somerset Satin paper with Cranfield Safewash inks.

I made this print after being struck by the beauty of a tree on a local lane flanked by a hedge glowing red in the late afternoon sun.

It’s a reduction print, which means all the colours are added using the same block, which is carved away for each colour until not much is left of it.
